Instituto de Astronomía Ensenada
Ensenada is located less than 100 km from the Mexico-U.S. border, a short drive away from San Diego, CA.
Ensenada is host of a branch of UNAM's Instituto de Astronomía, which is closely connected to the San Pedro Mártir observatory complex (pictured on the left).
The third largest city in the State of Baja California, Ensenada is renowned for its fishing, seafood, canning and winemaking industries as well as its excellent restaurants, wide variety of accommodations, and ample array of shops featuring everything from Indian crafts to Mexican arts and European imports. More than 90 percent of Mexico's wines are produced in Ensenada and its surrounding regions.
